Antique silver pendant with Ganesh and Lakshmi – SEMLIYA. A pendant made of antique silver (approx. 40 – 50 years old) and depicting Ganesh. The pendant is embellished with decorative elements typical of traditional Indian jewellery.

The pendant reproduces the god Ganesh, first son of the god Shiva and his consort Parvati, he is represented with an elephant head with a single tusk, a protruding abdomen and four arms.

The god Ganesh is a figure much adored by the faithful population, because he is defined as the “Lord of good wishes”. It represents the one who brings abundance and luck. He is also defined as the “Destroyer of every obstacle” not only of a material but also spiritual nature. For this reason, Ganesh’s intercession is invoked before carrying out any initiative.

Lakshmi (or Laksmi) is the Hindu goddess of wealth, luck, youth and beauty. She is the wife of the great god Vishnu and the couple is often worshiped in tandem as Lakshmi-Narayana.
