Antique Silver Pendant with Deity Shiva – UKWA. A pendant made of antique silver (approx. 40 – 50 years old) and depicting Shiva. The pendant is embellished with decorative elements typical of traditional Indian jewelry.
Shiva is one of the most venerated deities in Hindu mythology, a member of the divine triad (trimurti) with Brahma and Vishnu. By virtue of his multiple aspects, both benevolent and terrifying, he assumes different forms and epithets.
As the lord of time, he presides over the incessant dynamic of creation-annihilation-regeneration, the rhythm of which is marked by his cosmic dance. In addition to being supremely powerful and a destroyer, he is also venerated as a divine ascetic.
The female deity who often accompanies him, symbol of his shakti or vital energy, also takes on different appearances and is gradually identified with Uma, Parvati, Durga, Kali. The multiplicity of the god’s manifestations is underlined by particular iconographies, which portray him with a body half male and half female, or as a three-headed figure.
The photo shows the Antique Silver Pendant with Shiva at the time of photography. Before delivery the object is polished again. The burnished areas may therefore have a slightly different appearance. The pendant is made entirely by hand.
This is an antique piece of jewelry that we only refresh briefly to avoid damaging the patina. The patina may be slightly different at the time of purchase.
The pendant is made of hypoallergenic 925 silver. Its surface is not treated or plated so it guarantees its beauty over the years.
